Useful guidance before you book

Start with your priorities

A short priority list helps you choose a duration and frequency that fit your home.

Use your home as the guide

Home size, usage, and upkeep between visits matter more than a rule of thumb.

Check before you book

Helen shows the current service, price, and availability before you confirm.

Home cleaning checklist

Bedrooms

Start high and finish with the floor so settled dust is removed last. Confirm whether bed linen should be changed before the visit.

  • Dust reachable surfaces and furniture
  • Clean mirrors and accessible glass
  • Make beds or change prepared linen
  • Vacuum and mop floors
  • Check skirting and reachable corners

Bathrooms

Bathrooms often need the most time. Tell Helen when grout, glass, or several bathrooms should take priority.

  • Clean toilet, basin, taps, and shower area
  • Wipe mirrors and reachable glass
  • Clean tiles and visible grout
  • Empty bins and replace prepared liners
  • Finish with the floor

Kitchen

The standard clean covers reachable exterior surfaces. Oven interiors and specialist restoration need separate time or equipment.

  • Wipe counters, sink, taps, and hob
  • Clean appliance exteriors
  • Wipe cabinet fronts where reachable
  • Remove visible grease from accessible surfaces
  • Vacuum and mop the floor

Living, dining, and balcony

Clear fragile objects and personal paperwork before the visit so the cleaner can work through surfaces without guessing what may be moved.

  • Dust reachable furniture and surfaces
  • Clean mirrors and accessible glass
  • Vacuum sofas where suitable attachments are available
  • Tidy visible items within agreed limits
  • Vacuum and mop floors

What to prepare before the cleaner arrives

Have a working vacuum cleaner and mop ready. Your cleaner brings colour-coded cloths, brushes, a scrub pad, bin bags and a multi-purpose cleaner. Leave a short priority list when the whole list may not fit the booked time.

  • Vacuum with working attachments
  • Mop and bucket
  • Any product your surfaces need, such as a stone or timber floor cleaner
  • A toilet brush, if you prefer your own
  • Prepared bed linen when changing is requested

Is every checklist item completed in every session?

The cleaner works through the written standard within the booked time. Home size, condition, bathrooms, and extra tasks affect how much fits, so state your priorities first.

Do cleaners bring equipment?

Most of it. The cleaner brings colour-coded cloths, a window squeegee, a scrub pad, detail brushes, bin bags and a multi-purpose cleaner. You provide a working vacuum cleaner and mop.

Can I add ironing or bed changing?

Yes, within the booked time. Prepare the items and tell Helen so the cleaner can plan the visit around those priorities.

Does this include carpet or upholstery extraction?

No. Surface cleaning may fit an hourly home clean, but specialist extraction, polishing, and restoration require separate equipment.
